The system operates on the following principle:
1. Feeding & Alignment: Bulk pepper seeds are elevated and fed onto a vibrating chute or belt, which spreads them into a single, uniform layer to ensure each seed can be individually inspected.
2. Optical Scanning: The aligned seeds free-fall past a high-resolution, high-speed optical scanning chamber. This chamber is equipped with:
· Full-Spectrum LED Lights: Provide consistent, glare-free illumination to highlight color differences.
· Advanced CCD/CMOS Cameras: Capture detailed images of each seed from multiple angles.
3. Real-Time Data Processing: A sophisticated computer processing unit analyzes the captured images in milliseconds. It compares the color, shape, and sometimes spectral characteristics of each seed against user-defined acceptance parameters. Seeds that are discolored, moldy, immature, or mechanically damaged are identified as rejects.
4. Precision Ejection: Upon identification, the system sends a signal to an array of high-speed, solenoid-controlled air jets. These jets emit a precise puff of compressed air to knock the defective seed out of the product stream without physically touching it.
5. Separation & Collection: The ejected defective seeds are diverted into a reject channel, while the accepted, high-quality pepper seeds continue their natural trajectory into the "good product" collection hopper.
